Collaborate And Compete With Students Across Majors
BioScholars’ annual BioTechathalon is a two-day interdisciplinary competition that encourages UCSD students to work in diverse teams. With corporate backing and consultation from local biotech companies like Genentech and Takeda, and in cooperation with other biology and honors organizations on campus, BioTech presents participants with a challenging problem that real biotechnology companies face. The participants are tasked to come in with a solution to the posed question that requires drawing from diverse fields such as biology, ethics, communications, and finance. Winners of the competition are not only given money prizes, but may also have the opportunity to obtain internships through the connections they make with biotech companies at the competition.
